China has passed the United States as the world’s largest producer of greenhouse gases and energy consumer in the world, but that’s not stopping them from creating new and efficient ways to eliminate congestion. In an effort to cut the amount of pollution without widening the roads, the Shenzhen Huashi Future Parking Equipment Company is developing a 3D Express Coach (also known as a three-dimensional “fast bus”).
The invention will allow cars less than 2 meters high to travel under the bus, eliminating the congestion of combined vehicles and buses. According to China Hush, the 6 meter wide 3D express coach will be powered by electricity and solar power, will be able to travel up to 60 kilometers per hour, all while transporting 1200 to 1400 passengers.
The first 115 miles of construction will begin in Beijing’s Mentougou district starting later this year. The Chairman of the Shenzhen Huashi Future Parking Equipment Company brags it will only take a year and 500 million yhan (73 million U.S. dollars) to build the new, futuristic system of eliminating congestion.
