Is the Apple Magic Trackpad a whole new era to desktop navigation? For the most part: no. Trackpads are made specifically for mobile computers, such as laptops and net books. Now you may be saying, “But the Magic Trackpad is bigger than the average size Trackpad.” My answer will be, “Yes, but it’s still a Trackpad”. The truth is, this Trackpad by itself is just a copy. Now you may be thinking, “Who did they copy?” They made the exact same thing as the Wacom Bamboo Touchpad, but instead of glossy and matte black finish, they make it the usual colors: gray and white. As most of you would know, a Trackpad would not be very handy when making presentations or editing pictures in a photo editor, because when it comes to these two main programs: you need precision without having to be careful where you navigate with a Trackpad. So the truth is, this is not a whole new era to desktop navigation, but instead is a product to make money. (And mouse, it’s your lucky day, you’re not going anywhere anytime soon.)
