The Tablet Wars: Part 1

The Tablet Wars are heating up as the approaching Holiday Season comes nearer and nearer, with RIM’s new BlackBerry PlayBook, Samsung’s Galaxy Tab, and HP’s alleged Windows 7 and WebOS tablets. But don’t forget about the product that started it all: the iPad.

Now some of you may think: “They’re just copying Apple.” To part of that I will say yes, and part of it I will say no. After seeing how well Apple did with that product, they also followed because Apple is now the most valuable corporation in the world. Now rumors were circulating of tablets from other companies before the iPad was introduced, including the HP Slate that was canceled because “Windows 7 is not the right operating system for a tablet”. However, HP did not remove any of the patents from the canceled device, meaning there will be a tablet to be coming from them in the future.

Now as some of you may or may now know; all of the tablets that are coming soon over-spec the iPad. The new PlayBook from RIM has a duel-core processor, the HP slate has the net book processor of the Intel Atom, but then again, the iPad runs a mobile operating system.

I will be covering all sorts of any news that surfaces up about tablets and tablet-like devices, so stay tuned to TeknoLogic.

P.S.: Sorry for not posting any articles in a while, I’ve just been really busy with school and such.
